Wishing Well Poem Ideas

Tackling the issue of gifts for your wedding can be a tricky one so we have put together a collection of verses to express your gift wishes with polite etiquette and courtesy to all your guests.

More than just kisses so far we’ve shared,
our home has been made with love and care.
Most things we need we’ve already got,
like a toaster and kettle, the pans and the pots.
A wishing well we thought would be great,
(but only if you wish to participate)
A gift of money is placed in the well,
then make a wish but do not tell.
Once we’ve replaced the old with the new,
we can look back and say it was thanks to you!
And in return for your kindness, we’re sure
that one day soon, you’ll get what you wished for!

We made a commitment some time ago,
that together through life we were destined to go.

To save you looking, shopping and buying,
here is an idea we hope you’ll like trying!
Come to our wedding to wish us both well,
and please make a donation to our wishing well.

Our two families have come together as one.
We really hope you can join in the fun.
A wishing well we thought would be great,
But only if you wish to participate.
Place your envelope into the well,
Then make a wish, but do not tell!
Please do not be offended by our request,
As our day is complete having you as a guest.

We’ve been together now for a year or two,
Our wedding is coming up and we’ve invited you.
We have all we need, so there’s no gift list,
But we have a plan, if you must persist.
A donation to our wishing well would be gratefully received,
Just don’t think you have to, we would not be aggrieved.
We really want your company to help make our day,
To eat, drink, be merry and dance the night away.
We thank you in advance and hope we’ll be seeing you,
Because you’re part of our wish that we want to come true.

These two lovebirds have it all,
Family, friends and love galore.
If a gift you intend to help our nest,
And need some assistance may we suggest,
A contribution to our lil’ cage,
Will help us along to our next life stage.
But most important is your presence this day and night,
As our wedding without you just would not be right!

To travel here is no small feat
We’ve asked so much of you
Your presence is present enough
To hear us say I do
And should you still wish to honour us
With a gift of money on the day
A wishing well at our reception
Will set us on our way

We don’t want to offend but we have it all,
All household goods and so much more.
To save you shopping, sit back and rest,
A gift of currency is our request.
Don’t go overboard or rob any banks,
Any little thing will make us smile with thanks.
We supply the wishing well,
just pop in an envelope and who can tell?
Now that we have saved you all the fuss,
We would love you to come and celebrate with us!

Please know that gifts are not expected nor required. Your presence at our ceremony and celebration is the best gift we could ever ask for! However, should you wish to bless us with a gift or money contribution, a gift table will be available at the reception.

Your love, laughter, and company on our wedding day are the most special gifts we could ever hope to receive. However, should you wish to honour us with a gift, a contribution toward our dream honeymoon will help to create memories that will last a lifetime.
